My career as an architect began over 45 years ago and includes commercial, institutional and residential projects in design as well as drawing production development with specialisation in ADA related work. I am also regarded as an expert witness for law firms regarding design and constructability issues, slip and fall and other related legal claims. Projects vary from small residential additions to larger whole house conversions that range from less than 50 thousand to an excess of 1 million in project costs with commercial and institutional projects in the multi-million dollar range and construction values overall exceed $55 million.
The firm is located in Havertown, Pennsylvania and currently licensed in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Custom design and drawing development has been the primary business to ensure that quality, time and cost concerns meet client needs and expectations. I rely on a network of design professionals, engineers and construction firms which I can access on an as needed basis in support of these efforts. As a result the firm has a low overhead which translates into fast track, efficient and economical design services in meeting client needs and objectives.
I worked as an Architect/Project and Construction Manager of design and construction projects for the US Government for 23 years and buildings were expected to meet ADA and accessibility for individuals with disabilities. As a result, I have a highly specialized focus and design expertise for accommodating handicap and ADA compliance needs in various residential, commercial and institutional settings and have worked for health care providers and individual clients in that regard.
In expert witness cases I have worked with local law firms for the review, assessment and analysis of contract documents and field investigation for myriad design and construction issues in residential, commercial and institutional projects and have appeared before arbitration panels and in courts in Philadelphia, Chester and Delaware Counties as well as cases in the State of New Jersey.
I have degrees from Temple and Drexel University with emphasis on design, building technology and construction management and I continually maintain my educational pursuits in new developments to meet the ongoing needs and changes within the profession.
